We are excited to announce our Working on Womanhood (WOW) Supervisor role in our Boston area!

Position Summary

Our WOW Counselors are responsible for providing school- based group counseling and direct service to girls in 6th-12th grade through empowering them to develop responsible decision making skills, self-awareness, emotions management, self-acceptance, healthy relationships and social awareness. The WOW Counselor should be flexible in their clinical expertise and youth engagement skills to empower the girls to become successful in school and life.

 

Our WOW Supervisors are responsible for providing administrative support, feedback and supervision to WOW Counselors. The WOW Supervisor should be flexible in their clinical expertise and collaborative skills to empower and motivate WOW Clinicians to be successful in implementing at their site.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities

 

  • Maintains focus on the achievement of key program outcomes including goals for student performance, retention, and satisfaction
  • Assists in the coordination of school-based data collection and program evaluation initiatives
  • Assures that all program documentation, records, and required reports for program stakeholders are prepared in a timely fashion
  • Collaborates with WOW Counselors and WOW Curriculum Specialist to recruit and build relationships with students, school administration and community partners
  • Collaborates to identify, manage and retain talented program team members
  • Supports, builds, and shares best practices in clinical interventions and system leadership for positive student outcomes
  • Provides or arranges ongoing weekly supervision to provide specific guidance in the areas of professional responsibilities, prioritization, time and resource allocation
  • Collaborate with the WOW Curriculum Specialist to ensure continuity of support to the WOW Counselor
  • Responsible for representing WOW in community, in schools and with other WOW partners
  • Collaborate on leadership of WOW Committee and WOW Projects
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Experience/Training

 

  • Master’s Degree in social work, counseling or a related human service field from an approved accredited university is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work/internship experience in the education, human service, youth development or social services field required
  • Must have a minimum of one year leadership experience
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of advanced therapeutic concepts
  • Maintains professional licensure or within 3 years of obtaining position should obtain their professional licensure

  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
