Our Corporate and Foundation Relations Manager is responsible for:

Achieving annual fundraising goals for Youth Guidance Boston programs. This is an exciting new role that will drive continued growth in local grant maker support for Youth Guidance’s nationally known school-based social emotional learning programming for the region. The incumbent in this role will manage the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of foundation and corporate donors. 


Our Corporate and Foundation Relations Manager provides:

Fundraising expertise, support, leadership, and guidance to build relationships with donors and other stakeholders.

Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:

Fundraising & Sustainability

  • Undertake a strategic approach to aligning Youth Guidance’s key programs and initiatives to funding opportunities,
  • Complete ongoing prospect research (e.g. online, databases, clearinghouses, etc.) of current and prospective corporate, foundation and individual donors to identify viable local funding opportunities.
  • Complete all stages of funding proposal development including outreach to grant-makers, and development of letters of inquiry, online applications, formal proposals and grant reports.
  • Forecast annual, quarterly and monthly revenue, as well as donor renewal and acquisition, utilizing Raisers’ Edge for constituent relationship management. 

Relationship Management

  • Serves as key point of contact with current & prospective donors through letters, personal visits, phone calls, and personalized acknowledgements to achieve continued donor engagement.
  • Works collaboratively with agency program, evaluation and finance staff in the development and submission of proposals, reports and grant budgets.
  • Works with local leadership team in building relationships externally and in the development of proposals to submit to identified funding partners.
  • Cultivates new private sector champions by arranging site visits and other engagement opportunities with program/giving officers. 


Project Management

  • Ensures site utilizes local stories and images to create high-quality, brand consistent digital and print collateral materials, with support from the Director of Marketing & Communications.
  • Engages with the local Advisory Council, comprised of foundation, corporate, government and community stakeholders through coordination of quarterly meetings. 
  • Ensures compliance with the terms and expectations detailed in corporate partnership and foundation grant agreements.  
  • Ensures recognition of corporate and foundation partners through features in Youth Guidance’s website, newsletters, social media, annual report etc.
  • Proofreads and edits text for correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and concise and easy to understand language that effectively presents the council’s mission and communicates a compelling case for support.

Our Corporate and Foundation Relations Manager has been equipped for this impactful work with at least:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of fund development experience and demonstrated track record in corporate, foundation, and government relations.
  • A Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent relevant experience.
